Chantz

This is Chantz, a friend of mine from college. He is also a photographer and needed photos of himself for his website. I needed some for mine (that is getting closer and closer to being done!!!!!!!!!) too...so it was a perfect swap! This was just a really fun shoot and I had a ton of fun editing everything.

Panama 2008

Going to Panama is becoming a habit of mine every summer. Falling in love with the sweetness of the people each time is too. This trip always intense with hours of hiking, lots of sweating and tons of ministry. It'd be easy to wonder what the appeal was to that (mainly sweating a lot.. :-)), but I think when you see the faces, you'll know like I did.

My friend Sara, looking out over the beautiful mountains.

A lot of schools welcome us to come and "entertain" their students. We get to tell hundreds of students about the Lord and have so much fun loving them too!

These are the project directors over the trip each year. They have the biggest hearts for the world...and for this little girl. They've known Maria for four years.

And now, their faces:

This was my lil' buddy one day!

Apparently, THE Canal causes deep thought and reflection:

Apparently...those hills do too. :-)

New looks

As you can probably tell, things are starting to look a little different around here. I am in the process (the long one) of overhauling everything that was once Echoing Life Photography and morphing it into what will become Jessica Mooney Photography. Although I fought changing the name at first, I eventually realized it's actually better for my business to do so. I still wholeheartedly believe in the heart behind Echoing Life (and you can read about that here), but it's time for a change.

There will be lots of other changes to look for in the coming months that I am VERY excited about! New website, new proofing company, new name! :-) Stick around to see what's coming!

I'll be blogging my trip to Panama in the next week, but I'll leave you with a sneak peak.

Wow...it really is that beautiful, I promise!

The Stanford kids

So I'm a bit behind again. What's new? At least I have a legitimate excuse this time- I was in Panama for a couple of weeks. (Those pics to come soon!)

Here are the family pics I promised. I have trying to get these up for almost 2 months now! These kiddos....they are oh-so-precious to me! I started babysitting them in 2002 and just haven't stopped. Not really...as you can see, they aren't so much in need of a babysitter anymore. I was able to live alongside this family while they worked in Asia...and what a blessing that was. I loved watching them live Asian style, speak Asian style and wish they were Asians! They love that culture and I just love that about them! They will be returning to the States in about a month and I'm sure they will miss their home there greatly. Hopefully, these pictures can help them remember what it was like to live in a place so beautiful!
Here they are:

This was a fun shot we just HAD to get! This vehicle is somewhat synonymous to a semi in the US. BUT...they are MUCH louder and about 10 times slower!

Sweet Katibeth was a natural in front of the camera! This is such a perfect representation of Marshall to me!

Beautiful, beautiful Holli!

The Langstons

Living in the hills of Asia means you have terraces out your back door. This family knows terraces like the Cleavers knew picket fences. I just said my goodbyes to this family last week as I moved back to America. I'm lad I'll have these pictures of them to remember them by!

I've been working on some story boards lately...and I like 'em!

One of my favorites...ever!

This is so them:

Spencer is stronger than everything else in this world...look at those muscles!

Another family to come realllllllllly soon!

The Mowerys

Before leaving this side of the world, I decided to do some family pictures for the families I'm helping. Now this family is c-u-t-e! It's been really fun watching them grow these past few months, and it was even more fun getting their cute faces in front of my camera!
They will be having a little brother late summer!
Okay, let's just get onto the pics of them!

These are some of the most well read children I've ever known. I'm so impressed with their thirst for knowledge (and their mom's great teaching!)

Living in the mountains makes play time for these kiddos a real talent. One of their favorite spots to play is in the back of the family truck!

Hong Kong

I recently traveled to Hong Kong. I liked this city a lot and was SO impresed with how clean it was and how Ameri-Euro-Asian it seemed. It was also weird to speak English to Asian faces and hear it spoken back to me. It certainly made ordering food at restaurants easier.

Here are a few shots from my journey!

These are some shots of the subway station walls. I was so impressed with their artistic touch!

Making room for even more buildings.
I went to the highest point in HK to get an aerial view of the city. On the "Peak Tram," I found lots of tourist-y looking people. Being one myself, I had to get a shot of them all doing the same! Okay, maybe our subjects were a little different....

ORGANIZATION! wow...it's been awhile since my eyes have seen.

Raw

This is big. I am officially addicted to processing in raw now! Thanks to a new friend navigating me through it briefly, I now realize that's it's not as scary as it used to seem. I still feel I have a ton to learn about it and how to re-do my workflow, but I'm more encouraged by Mr. Raw's results! I'm thinking Mr. Raw is going to be my friend and make my life a lot easier when it comes to photo time!
Here's a B&A. I love B&As.
This is the image, shot in raw.

Same image, processed in raw!

lights galore.

Had some fun capturing some light in a new city last week!
Although it's kind of circus-y, I want this lamp.
I went to this restaurant (once a day, three days in a row!) and LOVED their lighting fixtures.
I don't want to be one of those photographers that puts one zillion pics on their blog of the SAME thing...so please bare with me through three similar shots! :-)

Dinner and a show! How about that!

Just played around with some recent pics and added text. What do you think?
